Every Becker vacuum pump and compressor is fitted with internal filters but some applications can benefit from having a further external filter within your pipeline.
Carbon Dust Separators
Separation Rate: Paper Filter 99.9% (4μ) and Fibreglass Paper Filter 99.985% (0.3μ) for clean-room applications (class 1000).
Application: Externally mounted waste and blast-air filter for oil free rotary vane vacuum pumps and compressors.
Benefits: Carbon dust particles prevented from entering ambient and blast air, easy to clean using compressed air.
Note: The flow rate shown on the PDF is the volumetric flow tested by the manufacturer, with defined filter specific flow resistance dp. The filter size selected must ensure that the rated flow rate is ≥ air requirement.
Liquid and Solid Filter Separators
Becker designs a number of liquid and solid filter separators that are specifically engineered to remove damaging liquids or particles from the inlet airstream.
The Mini VLS separator is designed with a baffle, polyester inlet filter element, and ball-float shutoff valve that provides overflow protection for the pump. Available in carbon coated steel or stainless steel. Flow rated up to 42.5 m3/h.
VLS separators are available in larger sizes for use with wet or dry product. Like the Mini VLS separator, these units include an inlet baffle, 5-micron polyester filter element, and ball-type shutoff. Ample ports are provided for optional level switches, sight glasses, differential gauges or switches, and drain valves. Available in exopy coated carbon steel or 304 stainless steel. Rated for operation to 0.001333224 mbar. Capacities range from 102 to 1410 m3/h.
WDS separators have the highest holding capacity of all our separators. It is a two stage separator that uses direction changing baffling to remove most product, followed by a self-cleaning bag-type element that can filter down to 1 micron. A large clean-out port is provided for removal of solids. Rated for operation to 0.4 torr. Capacities range from 119 to 1274 m3/h.
In medical suction applications a medical bacterial vacuum filter is required. The medical bacterial vacuum filter is installed before the vacuum pump, receiver tank or Medical Suction System where it can completely remove existing bacteria and prevent contamination or potential biological infection to the vacuum pump, atmosphere and surrounding environment.
Becker Medical Bacterial Filters protect hospitals, day surgeries, veterinary clinics and laboratories from liquid, solid and bacterial contamination whether there is a single vacuum pumps installed up to a full Medical Suction System.
The suction systems found throughout hospitals in areas such as general wards, operating theatres, dental departments, pathology departments, pharmacy laboratories and mortuary/post mortem rooms are connected to a central suction system known as a Medical Suction System or Vacuum Plant. (Note: All Becker Medical Suction Systems are fitted with bacterial filters as standard).
Becker Medical Bacterial Filters fully comply to the Australian Standard AS 2986-2011 and all previous versions of the standard.

For the bearing rollers in Becker vacuum pumps and compressors, Becker Pumps Australia can supply you with a grease that is designed for high temperatures.
The grease to use is Amblygon Grease TA15/2 supplied by Becker in a grease gun to eliminate contamination to your unit.
Greasing your bearings every 2000 to 3000 hours depending on the pump, and depending on your usage will ensure that your bearings stay well lubricated and they will last a very long time.
Please ensure that you only use the grease approved by Becker and that you dispense the grease into the grease nipples using the grease gun.

STANDARD PRESSURE GAUGES
Becker Pumps Australia can provide pressure gauges along with your purchase of a vacuum pump or compressor from us. Alternatively, if you require pressure gauges for existing pumps or compressors, a replacement, or a brand new gauge for another application we can help you out.
When we manufacture and supply a central suction system we fit it with a 100mm pressure gauge that has a 304 stainless steel case and bezel along with a 316 stainless steel connector and bourdon tube material. Each gauge is fitted with a laminated safety glass window and have a protection rating of IP65.
The gauges have a connector at the bottom with a 1/2“ BSP connection.

Practically every industrial building in Australia would have a receiver (also known as an air tank or pressure vessel) installed somewhere in it. Typically these would be used in conjunction with their compressed air system.
The standard role of an air system is to spread energy produced at a single source to different areas of the plant. The air receiver stores air pressure and can deliver it when the compressor is not running (or even whilst the compressor is still running). It also serves as a pulsation damper and moisture trap.
Vacuum receivers act in a similar method, with the exception that they create suction at the point of usage.
Since air has the ability to be significantly compressed, it can be dangerous if released suddenly, especially if the pressure vessel bursts. The regulations for the design and construction of air receivers are therefore very rigorous, and therefore Becker will only sell an air tank that meets and is tested to the Australian Standard AS 1210-1997 Pressure Vessels.
Commonly most small air receivers being used with a single pump will have a platform on top in which to mount the compressor or vacuum pump on to. You might be familiar with these small units which are sold through hardware stores and car shops for the use with air tools. The receivers are normally mounted horizontally.
Air receivers can be installed separately from the vacuum pump or compressor; these are usually bigger in size, and part of a system that can facilitate a lot of equipment. To save floor space, they are usually mounted vertically.
Becker can supply a popular range of Vertical Air Receivers that are specifically intended for use with Industrial Vacuum Pumps and Compressors.
These quality units are manufactured in a factory that is ISO 9001 compliant and they all meet the Australian Standard AS 1210-1997 Pressure Vessels. The manufacturer’s data report is provided in accordance with Australian Standard AS 4458. The tanks are finished with a blue external colour indicating compressed air content in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1345.
OH&S Registered Design approved for workplace use in all Australian States and Territories. They are fitted with industry preferred socket sizes. The reinforced vessel support attachments.
The standard size receivers are stocked in Brisbane and are available for direct shipping to anywhere in Australia. They are individually packed in a horizontal position inside a full timber crate with plastic bag cover.

While Becker pumps have a reputation for quiet operation, there are times when even that is not enough. We offer engineered sound reducing enclosures that reduce sound levels by up to 18 dBA.
Precise airflow is critical to a dry pump’s operation. You can’t just stick a pump in a box and expect it to survive for long. Becker has engineered each enclosure to ensure that proper airflow is maintained for all parts of the pump and motor.
The sound insulation of our hoods is approximately 10 to 18 dBA. For better ventilation, our hoods are equipped with additional fans (1~ 230 V).
These hoods are available as complete units including vacuum pumps or compressors or equipped for retrofitting of your existing vacuum pumps or compressors.

The non return valves prevent return flow to the unit for example when it is idle in vacuum or pressure mode.
Ideally it should be installed horizontally in pressure mode, horizontally or vertically in vacuum mode.
